Hey there,

don't know if anybody us still reading this, but anyway...

It has been a long time since I updated this, basically since I stopped playing FF-XI. I've been playing a lot of WoW since then. Got my Shadow Priest through the tier5 content, sniffed a bit at tier6 (downed 2 MH bosses), quit playing my Horde characters and started a Night Elf Feral Druid (RAWR bomb). Got 20 days played on it, got epic flight form, tanked up to tier4 25-man stuff, got 8.2k gold in the bank with nothing left to buy (and I bought a lot), then iced my account. It felt too easy somehow. And no, there isn't much change I am getting the upcoming expansion.

Then I got the utterly brilliant idea to buy Age of Conan. Was very fun in the beginning, but after a few weeks FunCom found a nerfbat here and there, and never stopped whacking those things around. So, after 6 weeks or so I iced that game. Too much energy, time and gold put into stuff and professions that became next to worthless all of a sudden. I think I made it to level 71 or so, with a Dark Templar. But I think I have to thank FUncom for 1 thing, it kinda "cured" me from MMO's.

That was basically the last time I played a MMO. I got bored, picked up Mass Effect, and played that to "death". Got all achievements, played it like 8 or so times with various classes (Assault Rifle Biotic is murder, for the opponents) but the fun is lost in that. Tried a bit of Spore, bubt somehow it doesn't feel right to me. It's not what I expected it to be. And to be honest, in the last 3 or 4 weeks, I haven't played games nearly as much as I used to do, 2 or 3 days maybe. Don't get me wrong, MMO's are fine, but for me personally, it was becoming too much an obsession to get the best stuff I could get my hands on. If I play something, I play to win, I want to be good at what I do.

Like I said, game playing has been cut down severely. And there is a reason behind this. My office job, computer games (not addicted, but it was way too often) and me being plain lazy, have caused me to review my current situation and health state. No, I am not sick, in the head maybe, in a good way I'd like to state it, but I have barely any condition left and my weight is a bit too much. So, I made a bit of a risky move, and bought a second hand bike.

Ah, but not just any bike, it's one of the finest recumbents you can get, and it is made here in the Netherlands as well. I present, the Challenge Fujin.

I will have to get some things modified, like larger seat (this is a small version, I need a big one), stronger shock cartridge in the front wheel and a longer chain. And knowing me, some shiny tidbits here and there in the long run. I am going to pick up this gem this saturday, and take small steps again at getting back some fysical condition and less weight. I already tried on my old SPD shoes, and they still fit perfectly. Another reason for this sudden change, is that I am getting seriously pissed off with most of the other motorised drivers on the road. Somehow it feels it is getting worse by the day, and I feel less inclined to be a part of it anymore. Travel distance to my work is about 12-15 kilometers, kinda perfect for bike commuting. But what about the weather you might say? I'll just need to learn to live with that again. In the past, I did nearly everything by bike. Go to school (15 kilometers one way), shopping in the city (12 km one way trip) and more. I have owned a Challenge recumbent before, a really high one (Challenge Wing) and I made long trips with that with a biking club, longest I can remember was like 150 km, and that was without the 30 km round trip to get to the starting point from my home. So, basically, for my situation, I don't really need a car to get around. Just need to get swap the lazy part of me for the active part again, and I am looking forward to it.

What will happen to this live-journal? I don't think I will be updating it after this one. When I get my bike, I am thinking of opening a blogspot account, and start over again, but in Dutch this time. I will be putting up that link here by the way. It will be less about games, and more about biking and my other hobbies (anime, animation and possibly a bit about music).

This is a not-so-short notice to all who happen to read this journal. I have been at this point before, I think august last year. And yes, the title is intended as a pun.

I have been playing this game for what, 3.5 years now? And to be honest, it's getting harder and harder for me to find something I really want to do or find something that satisfies me. I have done most things I want to do, obtained a lot I wanted to obtain, but most importantly, throughout the years I have met a whole bunch of wonderful people. Some of them that spring to mind the most:

Ryosuke and Rithridan, long time real-life friends.
Lilarthus/Balmung, very good friend and has been a mentor in a lot of ways. I was so saddened when you left, you played the game better then anyone I know, and you played two characters by default, more if needed.
Karinastar, LS leader of Phoenix Order, and Marz, best Samurai I have ever seen, period. Two of the most selfless people I have met in the game.
Bobe, one of the best Black Mages I have known, may you rest in peace.

Don't worry, I met more wonderful people, Vanyel, Bukaan, Lans, Elspetharu, Helooper, Inoiown (thanks for saving my butt in U.Range way back), Drshall, Eeden, Bugabugabuga and many more.

Now, this won't be a farewell post, as I haven't reached the "point of no return" yet, but I need a break and think over what I want to do with this game. My accounts will stay active and Rith will be taking care of them. Ofcourse, if needed and I have the opportunity, I will come and help. What needs to be done with the god gear I have been listed for? My Monk has reached level 75, so technically I could wear them. This will be up to Doc's discretion and the rest of you. I could have gone on for a few more weeks and get all the stuff, but taking a break after getting the stuff just isn't my style. After all, it's all a bunch of 0's and 1's on some server somewhere. Gear shouldn't be the main focus to play this game, it's getting to know people and get stuff done together, gear is just an added bonus.

Maybe I will continue this journal, or make a new one for WoW, not sure yet. If you happen to be on the EU server named Azjol-Nerub, I have an Undead Priest who goes by the name Poxx, and an Undead Mage named Miseria there. I'm going to see some more of The Burning Crusade, mainly the instances.

I finally got my Uggalepih Pendant. No, I didn't fight the NM, it is kinda hard to find Odorous Knives at a decent price, and only the +1 knife has a guaranteed drop. I got mine from the AH for 410k, which is about 2 weeks of Assaults for me, so a very good price in my opinion. I took it with me to Limbus and our Assaults (Azure Experiments), and I love it already. The Assaults might not be the best testing grounds, as those Lamia's have weird resistances on my spells sometimes. Now the only thing I miss for the big nukes is a Sorceror's Ring, but I am not sure if I will get that. I would need a lot of gil just to get the hp-> mp gear, and I don't even have inventory room for those. So, personally, my Black Mage is about finished gear wise, just need to get the damned AF upgrade items to drop and get an Apocalypse Neigh earring, and finish my merits.

We also did a sea map run last wednesday, and we got the map from Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi, after a lot of running, relative few deaths, a disconnect here and there, and some trains, some of them awefully big trains. Two more maps I need to get. The outdoors one, Tu'Lia, I can do that solo, and the Gardens of Ru'Hmet, then I got all Sea maps as far as I know.

And yesterday we did Temenos Central 2 (the one with the elementals and super-carby), and we kinda destroyed the zone. We were a few people short of doing 2 zones and didn't want to risk the chip. Easy win there in this case. No usable AF upgrade items for me, but I am getting used to that, too used actually.

Yep, first piece, too bad it isn't the Togi, but there are still a bunch of people before me on the list, but will get it in time. The piece I got is the Shura Zunari Kabuto. I also got the Martial Head abjuration, but I will uncurse that once my Paladin reaches the 72-73 range, not before that.

It isn't the best piece, and I know there are better head pieces on some stats, like Optical Hat for accuracy and W. Turban (fugly piece of gear) for Haste, but overall it is a nice piece and I am going to try it out for both TP and WS gear nonetheless.

Another thing I did this weekend was rush Megamichan to a decent rank for San d'Oria. Eeden still needed the 5.1 and 5.2 as well, and we completely smashed those BCNM's. Not as hard as we zerged the 2.3 mission before that, but it came close. Damn I really love Monk. It is even more powerful then I dared to imagine, and some pieces of gear are still not in my possession. Should be getting really funny when I get those.

Some more stuff achieved this week. With the help of various people, Rith and me managed to get 25/25 rank up points in Assault, and after we completed the quest, we will be Second Lieutenants, at the moment the highest achievable Assault rank. We didn’t do this with Azure Experiments, but with 5 new ones (for us at least) so we could get the rankup as fast as possible. Reason behind this, is the newly added Perdu Blade, which seems to be the best offhand katana available at the moment.

We also did another Proto-Omega, our fifth. Still haven’t seen any Homam hands being dropped, but we basically zerged the fight, had zero deaths on our end, and walked away with a head and legs piece, which went to Minagichan and Zabusa respectively.

And the last thing I did, is basically deplete my Ancient Beastcoin “treasury”, and got a Brutal Earring for Kat and a Musical Earring for Megami. I was contemplating to get a Boxer’s Mantle for Kat instead of the Musical Earring, but the earring is better for me at the moment.

With the help of Inoiown, Helooper, Anaelle, Eerikki and Rith/Ryo, I managed to get from Windurst Rank 6 (needed it way back then for Sky, and never continued it) to Rank 10 in under a week. A day before the tally I got my Master’s Caster Bracelets, 2 Aketons and some small stuff for cap fights and selling.

The final BCNM was a funny one, first you fight 4 Cardians, and then a Manticore and Wyvern. I was on the initial sleep duty, and I stepped a bit forward to get into casting range. Much to my surprise, the Cardians ensued to floor me before I got a sleep off. Turned out they have a far bigger agro range then normal BCNM mobs. So, I spent the Cardian part getting unweakened again. Still was a very easy fight with 3 (NIN/BLM/RDM) and we won with less then 1m from the record.

After I got all my items, I changed allegiance to San d’Oria and am currently on the final part of mission 2.3 (the cap25 Dragon fight). Ana wants to get to San d’Oria Rank 10 as well, so we will do them together. I am not in the same big rush as I was last week, because I “need” to get enough Conquest Points to get a minimum of 2 Aketons. Good thing is, I have a lot of subs to level on Megami, so that should be not too big of a problem.

Yep, another belated update. I am getting quite proficient on those.

First, we managed to hit 73 with our crazy little static. Which means… Asuran Fists and Destroyers. Yep, 800 WS points done, and I sold my Cross-Counters in like half an hour to get some much needed cash back. If I will be doing cap50 to cap60 stuff I will miss them, but the capped stuff is too rare and random not to get back little under a million gil. My Monk and Bard gear is pretty neat, but I need some Shura stuff (mainly Togi) because Helooper will break me in half in the parsers now. Bard is mostly finished, just some small stuff like Limbus AF upgrades.

Not much news on the Dynamis front. Last week’s run got canned because the area we intended to do was already taken, and our second option was taken seconds before we could enter. As for tonight’s run, we’ll have to see but it will probably be cancelled. Time to get some XP and get closer to 75.

On the Sea front. The NM’s are still bastards, either not getting them to show up (the Aern NM’s) or not getting the good stuuf (like torques). What’s even more a slap in the face, gilsellers are currently shouting to sell stuff like the sea torques, stuff we so desperately try to get in a legit way. Sometimes I hate how this game is handling the end-game stuff. S-E really needs to put instances into use (like thet do in WoW).

What we did manage to do, again with a good deal of zombie zerging in the end, is Proto-Ultima. The fight is really too weak till 20%, then it gets into nasty mode. Even worse, every time we tried to get some big nukes in (Manafont -> AM2/Tier4/Tier3 –ga), it just put up Mana Shield and basically spit us in the face. Drops were legs and head. A big congratulations to Eeden (Nashira Turban) and Ilument (Nashira Seraweels).

O H E L L Y E A H ! ! !

This means I can scratch my plans to get BLM AF+1 body saving me some coinage. A mere 2 extra enfeeble skill becomes a pretty moot point when I can get 16 in Enfeebling Magic through merits. Will help out Megami's future RDM as well. This update has the ability to be made of much win, just like last major update.

Did 2 more Azure Experiments assaults, pretty easy wins again, total bogus from the chest again as well, lol.

And a short outing in Sea for me (early shift at work), whooped some Ghrah's for chips, then popped papa Ghrah, the Jailer of Fortitude. This thing is just lame. It runs around Vorpaling some poor sods while the Mages keep hammering it, nothing flashy at all. Makes for an easy kill though. Sometimes after too much nuking said Black Mages became poor sods as well, but I managed to escape death this time around. I even got the killshot. Go me. No Torque drop, so even though the TH3 Thief was in my party, I got blamed, lol. They were just kidding. Right?

Not really blaming me? Right? ...

Yep, did some more leveling this weekend, and we got up to level 71 for the moment. Spent yesterday doing trial weapons unlocking and weapon skill NM’s, so that’s out of the way. It might not be the best weaponskill for the current level, but I think I have enough accuracy gear to try anyway. I did one for testing on a Lesser Colibri, and I got a 700+ damage Asuran Fists. Granted it is on a DC mob, but still it looks very promising. Just need 2 more levels before we can go unlock our Destroyers, so 500 WS points to go. Should be over with pretty fast though, just need to find out if it is possible to make a lvl 3 skillchain with a Samurai or other Monk, with the Monk closing the chain.

Also did some more Azure Experiments Assaults, haven’t seen any good stuff from the ??? items yet, but in time that will come, I am sure of that. We will keep trying, a Divisor Ring is simply too good to ignore.

Did our first Azure Experiments run yesterday. We managed to beat all the mobs, but due to severe lag problems on Rith’s part (not good for blink tanking) and bad luck with Summoner Bloodpact damage, we weren’t able to open the chest in time. We lost by a margin of seconds. We will do better next time, and we will try a slightly different setup then.

We also did another Limbus run, Temenos Central 2 this time. Won without major problems, only had a wipe at the final ‘Bunky part due to an unforeseen error on the pulling part. We got up again, and beat the rabid radiant squirrel without problems afterwards. Good coinage (45 total), and of course, no Black Mage upgrade item again. I haven’t seen those in months. I think I am about ready to give up on them, maybe they will drop then. The one thing I will need shortly also, is the Apollyon Bard upgrade item, as I already have the Temenos part. Also almost paid of my coin dept, as each Limbus armor piece you get will cost you 10 coins, to counter the cost the rest has to make in order to be able to beat Proto-Ultima / Proto-Omega.

Got my Monk and my Bard up to level 68 (and a half) now. Most fun party so far has been 2x Bard, 1x SMN, 1x SAM and 2x MNK/NIN on Crawlers. XP per kill was a bit low, but we raked them in pretty fast. Before that we went to the Mire. Started out decently with 30ish people in the zone, but that went up to 100+ fast. People need to learn to look for zone occupation before going to an already overcrowded spot. That, and Imps just blow, I detest them already. Silencega (no spells, duh) and Amnesia (no abilities or weapon skills) just plain suck.

We also “finished” ToAU so far, we had 2 fights left and they were just {Too Weak}. Now we have to wait for the rest of the story line to be released.

Assault wise, we are now ready to attempt “Azure Experiments”, and if it goes well we will spam that zone for Divisor Rings, as both Rith and I want one. Rith did part of the Assault rank-up mission for me while I was away, and I have to say, that quest sucks in my opinion.

On the Dynamis front, no new items for me. We did Dynamis-Windurst, and the only item I would want from there (and not even that bad) is Paladin feet. For the moment I am focusing on Monk and Bard items, and those don’t drop in Windurst. We did get some nice items (Summoner, Paladin) but nothing I could really use or would really want. What we did drop, was the Boss Idol, meaning most of us are now cleared for Dynamis-Beaucedine, which is quite an accomplishment with our relative small group. This opens up some new possible AF’s for us, and some I really do fancy.

Sky yesterday was just farming, and to my knowledge we got 1 Faust, 3 Ulli’s and 1 Mother Globe. And I was added to the priority list of the God Gear set, so now I really have to get Monk to 70+. Before joining my current linkshell, I could only dream of such gear. Not that the previous linkshell couldn’t handle it, but the time zone difference was just too big. So if all goes well, one of my long standing dreams will be fulfilled.

On the Final Fantasy front, got Monk and Bard up to 65, halfway to 66. I really love those new Anniversary Rings, too bad they are not rechargeable. Used 3 of the 10 charges in a single party. Getting closer to lvl 70 so I can finally wear some decent headgear (Optical Hat) instead of the stupid lvl30ish one I am using right now. Sadly, I don’t own a Voyager’s Sallet, but someday I hope I do.

Camped Dune Boots NM after Limbus again, didn’t pop of course, so we need to go back again. I hate camping a NM, but the Dune Boots are way too good to pass. Also need to go back and camp Nue and Deadly Dodo for the final 2 Brown Belt items. Fun fun, not, lol.

Sea tonight, and I hope we see some capes drop this time. One of the few items left to "finish" my Black Mage.

Level 64 got. And that’s isn’t all.

Turned out Monday night it was Final Fantasy maintenance (damn those short notices on them). It was scheduled to last till about 21:00 GMT+1, so until then I decided to take my Frost Mage for a spin (this is in World of Warcraft, kekeke). Yep, I still play 2 MMORPG’s, they are both totally different and both very fun, from a different perspective.

It was about time as well, because I got the Burning Crusade expansion pack since it was released, and until a few days ago I haven’t seen a single pixel from Outlands. So, I transferred almost all gold from my Priest (in hibernation, Mage is much more fun, safer, easier and faster) and some from my Hunter (left 500g there, since that’s about how much I earned/farmed with it), learned the lvl 60 riding skill so I could use my Horn of the Frostwolf Howler (which I have had for months, lol), and set to work. In literally a few hours I replaced just about all Epics I had, plus a couple of blue equips. It’s just that fast and maybe my epics weren’t the best (Tomb of the Icelord, Robe of the Archmage, 2x Freezing Band (both sold for 50s, yay)). The environment is lovely and very moody, and I can’t wait to get my Hunter to 58 (40 at the moment, and yes, I started my Hunter when TBC was launched) so I can go there as well.

After the FF maintenance was over, we got our little static together for some fast and furious XP grinding, and I managed to get my Bard and Monk to 64. I bought a second Sniper’s Ring, because in my opinion, my accuracy on Colibri’s was horrible. And, I got some money again from the Archer’s Ring we got in Assault, which finally sold. Accuracy went up (I am around 75% or so on Colibri’s at the moment), and I managed to get number one spot in the parser (with a little margin, but still got it). Funny thing is, the 2 Monks and the Samurai are really close when it comes to damage done. Good thing for the tank is we can’t really use food on the Colibri’s. Should be fun when we fight mobs that we cause food with, then damage and accuracy should really improve, and most likely agro will be all over the place, except with the designated tank I fear.

Another thing we found out, is that S-E ninja-nerfed the Golden Salvage assault without a notice. In the past, you could find out if the coffer was real or a mimic by checking it from a short distance. After we checked all coffers, we still hadn’t hit the jackpot. So next time, if we do this one again, Ryo is going Summoner again and we do it the "old-fashioned" way.

Over the next few days I did some more WoW with my friend, trying to get his Priest to 58 ASAP so he can go to Outlands as well. So, yesterday we hopped over to Silithus and started grinding quests (was his first time there). In a few hours, we managed to get about 65% of the xp needed, with still some quests to go. We should be able to get 58 in the next session. Once he hits 58, we are going to hop through the Dark Portal, and I wonder what his reaction will be when he sees the welcoming committee. I don’t think he knows what is waiting behind that Portal, yet. /evilgrin.

And, about half an hour before I logged off, I got a MSN message from Rith, asking if I would lot Ultima’s Heart if I had the chance for Megamichan. I said I wouldn’t say no to that, of course. And a little later, he congratulated me. Turned out they did Omega and he took Megamichan with him. So I was kinda perplexed when I heard that. So I logged in (after the item dropped of course) and we went to Mhaura. Other drops were Ultima’s Tail (feet), which went to Ilument, and Ultima’s Hind Leg (legs, one of the best pieces imo, maybe even the best for a Red Mage), which went to Bugabugabuga. A big congratulations to all, and an ever bigger thank you for the Nashira Body.

If we have enough participants, Dynamis tonight so I have a chance to test out my new Nashira’s Manteel, as I usually do a lot of Drains and Aspirs in there. Gotta be fun with double dark weather, 311 Dark Magic Skill and the Anrin Obi. And I have to say, the Manteel looks very, very nice.

Been some time since the last update again, at least longer then I intended. There are a couple of reasons for this. One of them, at least for me, nothing really ground-breaking has happened. Secondly, I recently changed jobs, so that took a bit of time as well.

But ok, on to the FF news. We got our new jobs up to 63 at the moment, together with 2 other LS members (WHM and PLD). Even with 2 DD less, we were still raking in around 10k xp an hour. This is looking good for the final push to 75, and I am really looking forward to it.

We also did our first Assault without completing the Assault rank up mission. We did this because we wanted our full Yigit set, and because S-E decided to toy with me last night. For some foggy reason, credit card payment was not completed, even though the card is still ok (expires in a few months). Took me almost 2 hours to change the details to my new card and reactivate my content-id’s. Because of this, we didn’t have time to complete the mission, so we opted to do the Assault for the item. It’s only 1 rank up point anyway. Now I have to completely re-write my rest macro, again. And now we can do Assaults for rank up, and for money items. Still need to purchase a lot for my jobs, lol.

Me and Rith also did our AF3 fights, so those are completed as well. More storage space lost for me, as Bard AF Body doesn't really appeal to me, but it looks nice as a whole set.

And lastly, we did some ToaU missions, up to mission 18 now, but nothing really special there.

OK, kind of a big update. Though I haven't made a screenshot of all the individual items and item drops, as that would be a bit overkill.

For starters, the job related stuff. Our weird static has been pounding through the levels quite good lately, and we all got up to level 53 at the moment. We got almost all AF done, I just need AF3 body for Megamichan, Kat has everything completed, as has Helooper, and Rith needs 2 more coffers and his AF3 fight.

The AF2 fight in Davoi, needed to do this twice. We even made a mighty big train at the end, but we didn't die.

And my AF3 fight. Took a bit of time, as this Yagudo has a TON of HP. Chipped away solidly, and Paragon of Monk excellence in the bag.

And most likely some good news for our weird static (MNK MNK SAM BRD atm), at around 61 2 LS members will likely join (PLD and WHM). I am really really looking forward to that. Mine and Heloo's Monk are getting worse and worse, in the "keep hate on the damn tank" department that is. I knew Monk was strong, but damn, this is getting insane.

As for the other stuff we got, during our key runs we got Helooper a Resentment Cape. Nice start there. And He decided to camp Morbolger for the Brown Belt quest. He got claim and kill, but it was at 5:52 AM GMT+1. Luckily, it was in the weekend, so I decided to take my sleep time in 2 steps, and even though there were 4 other campers, it popped in the right corner for me to claim, at 4:52 AM GMT+1. Now I need to camp Nue and Deadly Dodo, but the toughest item is in the bag.

And yesterday, on our way to a coffer location in Garlaige Citadel, Rith and me ran into Old Two Wings ( a bat NM). We burned it into the ground, and it even dropped the Bat Cape, which sold overnight for some nice pocket change (that is, if a certain someone send my cut of the profit ^^ ).

And just a few hours ago, we did another Kirin run. Due to a Shadowbind break, coupled with real fast summons, we lost our first set of Kirin pop items. Pretty big loss, but nothing that can't be overcome. This is something that can happen to every experienced group when a mistake is made. What's done is done, live and learn is all you can do.

And that, we did. We used our second set, wasted the summoned Gods, and steadily chipped away at Kirin. In the end, I managed to get the killshot, and some nice stuff dropped as well. So the night wasn't a total loss.

And earlier this week, with our Sea LS Shark Attack, we had mixed successes. We managed to defeat our first Jailer (of Faith). Too bad it didn't drop the torque. And we had a shot at Ultima. We got it to 10% with a lot of zombie fighting at the end, as Citadel Buster got the better of us. This one is a whole lot tougher then Omega, but we will overcome this challenge and bat him into the ground one day.

And now I have to somehow get some sleep in this damn baking oven...

Been quite a busy bee today. Started out as 38 Monk and Bard, having mostly LS people in the party, we plowed to level 45 for me (Kat + Megami), and 47 (Rith, Helooper and Anaella). Was some very nice XP.

We also did the AF weapon quest, for an added effect: storage -1. The Beat Cesti are not that bad, but I like Impact Knuckles better. Doesn't really matter anyway, in 5 levels it is Cross-Counters time. <3

The Paper Knife is just plain crap though. I'll keep on using Rith's Monster Signa until 51, then I can whip out my collection of HQ Staves. Should help cut down resists by a ton as well.

And this is how it stands at the moment. Seven levels, not bad for one day I think. Tires you out though. By the speed we are going with, I really need to finish my Jaguar Mantle quests this weekend. And I also need to make some money, almost hitting rock bottom...

Can it get any better?

I don't think it can.

No, seriously, this has been one of the best weeks I have ever had in this game. Not so much for me, but more for a good friend of mine, Rith. Throughout the years, he has been busting his ass for others in this game, and finally I get to see him getting some of the really good and desirable stuff. I'll get to that later.

For me, it hasn't been too bad as well. Dynamis Bastok was undertaken, after a bit of debate if we should do it or not. In the end, we got 10 AF (SMN, 2x MNK, 2x PLD, 2x BLM, DRK, SAM, THF), and a total of 284 currencies (including 1 100 piece). I got 2 pieces, Melee Gaiters will be the first to be put to use, as I have *gasp* actually started leveling Monk and Bard today. they sit at 38 now, could have been 39 were it not for my stupid ISP to crap out for over half an hour, again. The second piece I got was Valor Coronet, so I guess it is time to finally finish Paladin after I get Monk up to par.

Another thing which has been finished (finally), is Megamichan's Enhancing Skill for Black Mage. Finally capped it at 200.

Now, on to the really good stuff. Let's start with Dynamis San d'Oria. Rith normally runs Dynamis with a different shell then I do. they have more members and plow through things at a much higher pace, as most of them come from HNM linkshells, so are generally better equipped then we are. But, Rith couldn't make that session because of RL constraints, so I took over, to repay a bit for a lot of the things he has done for me in the past. And, the item he was after dropped as well to boot, so now Ryo's bard has a nice new Mushroom Hat, and one of the best Bard head items the game has to offer. Dynamis ended at 3:30 am my time (gotta hate timezone differences), and I was really pooped in the end, but it was totally, even more then totally worth it.

Next up, today. After my ISP decided to go do it's job again, we hauled over to Uglypie Temple, as Rith finally got the item to pop Sozu Rogberry, after over a 100 Tonberries I believe. Luckily, Thief's Knife is 100% drop right now. Poor Sozu didn't stand a chance. After chipping it down to like 50%, and stunning Throat Stab, Megamichan totally froze the poor sod. So, we now finally have TH3 when we need it.

And as you can see above, the big bang was left for a few hours ago. After doing one Kirin (dropped Shining Cloth, Pole, Dryadic Body and Kirin's Osode), we went over for 2 Suzaku's. After the very good Kirin drops. Suzaku decided to basically screw us over again, nothing good dropped there.

So, over to everyone's favorite Kitty. We did 2, and now we are nearing the end of our pop set supply. The first one dropped a Dryadic Legs (good start), and the second one made me and my friend very happy, it dropped Rith's Haidate.

After the Sky session, we went over to Wajoom Highlands for a short test session, and with Haste and Soul-Voices 2x March, Rith just about became a Katana wielding Monk, the swings never stopped.

It was a very good week, so there is still hope for us to get the stuff we really want.

Another week, another good week has passed. It didn't start of too good though. We tried our hands at Ix'Aern (monk), and because it was our first, we decided to pop with just one organ. The fight itself wasn't too bad, just a bit funny. I got a lot of "can not see Ix'Aern" because it was kited around the Ebony Panel, but in the end we got him down quite nice. It decided not to drop anything though. I so want that cape of it, got some very nice stats and basically has Black Mage stamped all over it. Me very much wants. "Luckily" there are not that many Black Mages in our Limbus group, and even so, in due time we will get all what we want and deserve.

There was no God session last weekend as well, so my friend will have to wait a bit longer for his Haidate, but with a little bit of luck, that will be settled this weekend. I really hope so, and in that I am not alone.

Limbus got delayed one day because of yesterday's maintenance, but our patience was more then rewarded. We tackled another Proto-Omega, and the fight went a whole lot smoother this time. Almost no kiting, 2 gunpods which got whooped very fast, and only two deaths on our side I believe. Again, no images from the fight, but I did capture the lovely loot pool.

That's right, our second ever Proto-Omega, and we just about got the jackpot this time. Legs + Body. Arkanor got the body and the head, and my friend got the legs. A well deserved grats to both of you.

They make them look good don't they? Just need to get that damn Thief's Knife to get even more good stuff.

After Limbus, we tackled one Ufo, and that decided to drop an organ, so one of our members now has a Soil Gorget. Also grats there. And in the aftermath, a lot of D2's needed to be done, and now I am only 10 skillup points away from capping Enhancing Magic on Megamichan.

And of course, a lot of Assault runs have been done, and we are 2 or 3 runs away from the next rank-up, and about 8 runs from finishing the area to make us 4/5 on the Yigit set. After this one, just the Yigit legs to go. Go go inventory space shortage, lol.

OK, starting of with the big stuff. Last night it was Limbus night again, and this time there was something big in store, Proto-Omega. I have no screenshots of the fight itself, having to run 2 toons around doing a hopefully proper job was hectic enough for me already. In case you are wondering what the hell I am talking about, check some info here.

The fight itself wasn't soo bad, considering most of us have never even touched this mob before. We had some deaths, and we decided not to farm the gunpods, but go for the kill as fast as we could. We already had some trouble keeping the big bastard under control, let alone prolong the fight to get more coinage. I don't think we got the best drops, but it was enough to make some people happy. We got 2 Omega's Tails, which make into 2 nice Homam Gambieras.

And my friend got one of those. Like I said before, grats and more then well deserved. About time you got some of this quality gear.

While we are on the topic of quality gear, last weekend was Byakko Marathon time. We had loads and loads of Gems of the West saved up before the update, and after the Ulli chance we also got a lot of Autumnstones. So, it was time to visit every-ones favorite Kitty in Sky. We did a total of 6, yielding 3 Byakko's Haidates and 1 Dryadic Abjuration: Legs. So, next in line for them, is my friend. Still got a good deal of pop items, so it should be settled in not too long.

And on the topic of Thief's Knives, still no luck for us there. So far, we haven't been able to get one of the damn lanterns. We did stuble upon a NM, got a rare/ex Katana from it, which Kat got. Not even sure if it is even a decent Katana, but at least we didn't leave empty handed.

Later tonight one or more Assaults I hope. I managed to get the Yigit Gomlek for Megamichan, but no screens of that (yet). I also got most of the equipment I want/need for Monk, so that will start of soon as well.

We had a major update last week, and these problems started after that update. Personally I haven't encountered dead zones yet, but I haven't exactly been in every one yet. Fix plzktnx.

So, back to the Under Observation BCNM.

We burned through 6 orbs today, and got totally jacked on drops. Most of it was vendor trash (aka, worth 1-3k on the AH, so not worth the space and AH cut), and I think we "made" about 100k each (if it is even that), including the 2.5k gil we each got on each orb. How cool is that? Yeah, I agree, totally uncool. At least I got a cool screenshot out of it.

At least we are getting better at this, we got our completion time to under 8 minutes now, including buffing. Could go a bit faster is I get more INT gear, but I don't want to spend extra money on that, so it will have to be like this. Still got a lot of seals left, and when we are through with those, we have to get Megami's RDM to 40 to get rid of those seals as well. I have to say, NIN x2 + RDM totally destroy this BCNM, very very hard to loose once you get used to the specifics here.

The 2 assaults we did earlier went a lot better, near flawless wins (Kat died once because the chigoes have a larger aggro range then I expected), I got another ring and dumped it on the AH (hope it sells fast), and now there are about 5 runs to go before we can jump ship to a new area.

Now I have to make up my mind. Buy an Emperor's Hairpin of the AH, camp it for the rare/ex version (even though I like to be able to mule stuff for room), or keep using this to 70 before I can equip my Optical Hat. Really not leaning towards the last option, as the Emperor's Hairpin is about the best item to have for cap40 stuff. Choices choices.
